We are committed to delivering a high quality education within an ordered and caring community, while realising the personal, social and spiritual development of each pupil.  We encourage pupils to become responsible members of their local community.

We want to make the transition from Primary School to Laurelhill a positive experience and for every single pupil to realise their full academic potential while gaining valuable life-skills and positive experiences along the way.

The Laurelhill Sports' Zone is a significant development in the College's links with the local community.  Pupils have access to the new, floodlit, synthetic playing surface and changing facilities, developed in partnership with Lisburn City Council and the South Eastern Education and Library Board.

    In February 2012 Laurelhill Community College was delighted to welcome Carol McConville from e-skills UK to talk about careers in ICT.

    Laurelhill runs very successful courses in GCSE ICT and A-Level ICT and it was interesting to hear Miss McConville explain how important ICT skills are in almost every workplace, with 94% of all job vacancies requiring applicants to have IT user skills; she explained that the N. Ireland IT & Telecoms industry requires almost 2000 new ICT professionals every year.

  • Safer Internet Day 2012 at Laurelhill

    Laurelhill encourages its pupils to use ICT and the Internet responsibly.  We try to make our pupils aware of the advantages and the dangers of online communication through our lessons. 

    George Ellis of the PSNI attended the college this afternoon (Tuesday 7th Feb) and delivered a frank and informative talk on the potential dangers using social networking sites and the internet to all our Year 8 pupils. Online-Safety videos from CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) were shown.

  • Open Evening - Monday 23rd January

    Open Evening will take place on Monday 23rd January from 7pm-9.30pm.  The Principal's Address will take place in the Assembly Hall at 7pm and again at 8pm.  A whole host of exciting activities are on show from award-winning drama to hair-raising scientific experiments!  Activities to watch out for...

    • Delectable yummy creations in Home Economics.
    • Exciting electronics in Design and Technology.
    • DJing in Music Technology.
    • Camping with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
    • Movie Memorabilia with Film Club.

  • School Closure on Wednesday 30th November

    We very much regret that Laurelhill College will be closed all day on Wednesday 30th November 2011 due to industrial action.

    We hope to see all pupils back in school on Thursday morning.
